Construction is scheduled to begin in November for a large multifamily residential complex near Orange County’s South Coast Plaza shopping mall.
The project, called Legacy Sunflower, will rise from a 3.59-acre property at 651 West Sunflower Street in Santa Ana. Approved plans call for a five-story building containing 226 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments, in addition to a six-level, 452-car garage.
TCA Architects is designing the contemporary low-rise development, which will include an exterior of metal panels, stone veneer, and brick. Planned on-site amenities will include a dog park, multiple courtyards, and two rooftop decks.
The project is being built by Bay Area developer Legacy Partners in coordination with asset management fun DWS Group, which provided joint venture equity and a construction loan for the apartment complex.
The partnership was arranged by Chinmay Bhatt, Noam Franklin and Cody Kirkpatrick with real estate advisory firm Berkadia.
Completion of Legacy Sunflower is expected in early 2023, according to a news release distributed by Berkadia.
