Leasing starts at new 380-unit apartment development in Aurora

Leasing efforts have begun at a soon-to-be-completed apartment community that will bring 380 units to southern Aurora.

Based in the San Francisco Bay area, Legacy Partners, alongside its joint venture partner Griffin Capital Company LLC, said construction at Legacy Metro 525 will wrap up in March, with move-ins beginning this month.

The mid-rise, transit-oriented community at 525 S. Dawson St., in Aurora, sits next to the Sable light rail station to the south of the Anschutz Medical Campus and Fitzsimons Army Medical Center. Other large employers in the area include Aimco, Microsoft, Zoom Video Communications and Progressive Insurance, the announcement said.

The apartments sit near Interstate 225 near various outdoor amenities like Cherry Creek State Park and Meadow Hills Golf Course.

Legacy Metro 525 offers a mix of studio to three-bedroom apartments with an average unit size of 846 square feet, the announcement said. Monthly rental rates start at $1,646 for the studios.

Amenities include a sky lounge and sky deck, a fitness center, a pool and spa, a dog wash and park, and a large clubroom with a catering kitchen, pool table, seating and dining areas. There are also two courtyards with a community garden, electric car charging stations, a coworking area with two private conference rooms and bulk internet that provides property-wide Wi-Fi coverage.

“Legacy Metro 525 offers residents large apartment homes, the latest in modern amenities, and excellent access to transit, major employers and outdoor recreation,” said Lane Cutter, senior managing director at Legacy Partners.

Legacy has added more than 1,600 homes to the Denver-metro area over the past five years. Its developments include TriVista on Speer in Denver, Legacy at Fitz in Aurora, Legacy on the Promenade in Westminster, and Araceli in the Denver Tech Center which opened in May.

KTGY was the architect for Legacy Metro 525. The development team also included Catamount Constructors as the general contractor, Studio 10 Interior Design for interiors, S. A. Miro as the structural engineer, Ninyo & Moore for geotechnical, civil engineer Kimley-Horn, Norris Design for landscape and planning, NINE Dot ARTS as the exterior art consultant and Jordan & Skala Engineers for mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
