Legacy, DWS Partner on South Coast Metro MF Development

Berkadia secured a joint venture equity partner for Legacy Partners for the development of 651 Sunflower, a five-story, 226-residence community in Santa Ana. DWS will serve as the capital partner, providing joint venture equity, as well as the construction loan.

The 263,754-square-foot multifamily community features a mix of studio, as well as one- and two-bedroom residences with balconies at 651 Sunflower Ave. in the heart of South Coast Metro. Designed by Orange County-based TCA Architects, the project will have a co-working lounge with private offices, a dog park and washing station, three large courtyards with a pool, spa, and water features, and two rooftop decks.

Legacy’s Tim O’Brien says, “651 Sunflower is Legacy’s newest development in the area following our successful opening and lease-up of 580 Anton, which is located nearby.”

Berkadia’s Chinmay Bhatt, Noam Franklin and Cody Kirkpatrick arranged the JV deal. The community is expected to deliver in early 2023
