Legacy Partners and DWS Group are set to break ground on a 346-unit community in Ontario, Calif. The eight-building Legacy Ontario property, situated at 2510 S. Euclid Ave., is anticipated to commence construction next week.
“The City of Ontario offers what our residents are attracted to: a nice community to live, play and work in,” Tim O’Brien, senior managing director for Southern California and the Southwest Region, Legacy Partners, told Multi-Housing News.
Ontario, part of the Inland Empire, has seen significant population growth in recent years. “Ontario has carefully planned its growth through the recently adopted Ontario Plan which will ensure high quality of life for its residents,” he noted.
Property details
Legacy Ontario is set to include three- to four-story structures and a tucked-under garage parking space with covered carports. The community will also feature 6,000 square feet of ground floor retail space.
The community’s mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartment homes are anticipated to range from 706 to 1,293 square feet. In-unit amenities will include stainless steel appliances, tiled backsplashes, large kitchen islands, wood-style flooring and full-size washers/dryers. A patio or large deck will be included with each unit.
Common-area amenities will include a roof deck, clubhouse, pool and spa, fitness center, sports lounge, multiple barbecue areas and a dog run. The development is designed with solar panels, battery storage, and 171 EV charging stations.
Designed by AO, the community is situated minutes from the Upland Metrolink station and the Ontario International Airport. Its ground floor retail will face Euclid Avenue, a nationally registered historic place with a 60-foot wide median.
Legacy Ontario is anticipated to achieve a LEED certification. Next Phase is the general contractor on the project. It is expected to be completed in April 2027.
Legacy Ontario is Legacy Partners’ third active development project with DWS. The company is also breaking ground this month in Scottsdale, Ariz., and plans to break ground early next year in Torrance, Calif.
Earlier last year, the company opened a 361-unit community in a Dallas suburb. Completed in a joint venture with Bridge Investment Group, the property features one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans, along with multiple, plaza-level live-work units, ranging from 570 to 1,700 square feet.
