Marina del Rey’s remodeled Mariners Bay apartments renting from $2,500

Real estate firm Legacy Partners announced today that it has wrapped up the first phase of a major renovation project of Mariners Bay, an apartment complex built in the mid-1970s.

Fifty-seven of its 379 units have been updated, and they’re looking very on-trend. The complex is now called Wayfarer Apartments + Marina (a bit ironic for a waterfront building), and its amenities, including a clubhouse, three tennis courts, pool, and 350 boat slips will be overhauled, too.

It’s located on the northwest side of the marina, and the harbor views come with a pretty steep price tag. The units range in size from studios to two-bedrooms, with prices for the refreshed pads starting from $2,500 and maxing out at a “little over” $5,500 per month.

Legacy is also working on another housing project nearby. It’s tearing down the Neptune Marina, nicknamed the “Melrose Place of the marina,” to make way for a sleeker multifamily project.

But the firm’s senior managing director, Tim O’Brien, says, “With the burgeoning growth of the Silicon Beach area, Wayfarer is the leading transformative project in Marina del Rey right now.”
